Ok. This turned into quite a lengthier post than expected but I got sucked in finding some registry essentials that are good swaps for their non-eco-friendly comparison.
First and foremost, hand-me-down ANYTHING is always green. Even if it’s made of plastic or non-sustainable materials. It’s preventing another new thing from being bought and produced and extending the life of the item you’re reusing. But if you’re buying new, here are some eco-friendly Amazon baby essentials for your registry.

1. Diapers, wipes & changing equipment
Try any of these sustainable diapers or wipes, or try reusable!
Hand me downs are always the best since they grow out of them so fast, otherwise, consider organic clothing. Here are a few cute options:
Try wooden or organic/sustainable materials (gyms, rattles, puzzles)
If you’re not ready to give up the convenience of plastic bottles, reach out to your friends and see if they’ve got any extras!
There are quite a few strollers out there now that are eco-friendly, however, any stroller can get a bit pricey so sometimes staying green and in budget means buying second hand or even borrow from a friend. The other option is to get one your baby can grow into so you’re not having to replace the stroller after a few short months.
Remember, progress over perfection!
Even people who claim to be zero waste are likely not 100% zero waste. It is so hard to avoid things that aren’t green so don’t beat yourself up if you choose convenience or budget over the greener choice. Just do what you can, when you can. Be conscious of the materials things are made of, if you can borrow from a friend or get second hand.
If you can’t find a product that is made from eco-friendly materials, think of one that you can get the most use out of and that can be passed on once you’re finished with it. Think of carseats, strollers or cribs that last through toddlerhood or can grow with your family.
Let me know which of these items you’re trying below!
