We’re pregnant!

I can’t believe that I’ll finally be able to talk about parenthood on the blog.

We’ve been trying for almost 6 years and were near considering IVF. I’m working on a post of the reality of finding out after so long… it’s not as exciting as you’d think.

But, now that I’m into the second trimester and feeling much better, the excitement (and nesting) are no joke.

Look at our little turtle 😀 My best friend is our ultrasound tech so she always gets the best pictures of our babe!

We’re already receiving gifts from family and friends and find ourselves constantly talking baby with people. We have officially even ordered the crib! *Update, it’s here!

Originally, we didn’t think we’d be able to do much of a nursery. We have a small home with 2 bedrooms. The “master” if you could call it that, and a spare room that half turned into a closet and storage space for my craft supplies.

But now, I’m excited that we’ve got a plan for a little eco-friendly nursery makeover and I can’t wait to share it! I’ll be putting together a mood board and will share it when I’m done. We also still have to house most of our clothes in there so we’ve got a plan for that too! So far, we have the crib and mattress on order, lots of hand me downs and some gifts from family and friends and I stopped at our local nursery to get a couple plants. I also started propagating a snake plant and some succulents so we’ll see how those do.

I’d LOVE to hear your must-haves for helping you transition into parenthood – books or podcasts, products, anything! Doug and I are first time parents, however, we have been babysitting our nephew Cason for about 6 months now, since he was 3 months old and feel like we’ve developed a good routine. We also know, it will be different when the baby doesn’t leave at the end of the day haha!

We haven’t decided on a name yet but we’ve had a list going for years of ones we love. We don’t think we’ll be able to name him until he’s here in our arms.

I look forward to learning as we go too. I can’t wait to find cruelty-free, safe products and routines review them for you here! I also can’t wait to share how we’re surviving 2 dogs, 2 cats, a Betta, a newborn, and our nephew and pup-niece 3 times a week!

We’ve already started decluttering and selling furniture that’s absolutely not necessary. I want the house to be as minimal as we can make it and easy to clean and pick up.

I want to be bombarded with experiences every day, not stuff and the stress that comes along with it.

Cheers, friend!
